Bailey had quite the weekend. Friday she got a bath (I took her to “the cleaners” – a.k.a. Petsmart grooming – lol) so she came home with me smelling nice. We went for a nice run – the weather was great. Saturday she went rollerblading. Actually she ran along side me while I rollerbladed on the trails at the park near our house – she did a great job and seemed to really love it. She has so much energy – she ran full speed for most of a half hour and still seemed raring to go!

So then I took her to the dog park. This was Bailey’s first time at a dog park (as far as I know) she did a great job. I figured she would since she socializes with dogs at work and has never had a problem. She ran around with the other dogs for almost a half hour – and even went for a quick dip in the pond (yeah, good thing she had a bath the day before!). She actually dried off fine.

Sunday was exciting because it rained – I went out with her in the back yard to see how she would react – she seemed confused, like, “Where is this water coming from?” It was funny to watch. She did seem more tired out on Sunday from all the activity on Saturday, and today (Monday) is still resting in her kennel nicely.

This afternoon Bailey was making some noise in her kennel next to my desk, so I turn to see what she is doing and this is what I see:

Another dog bed bites the dust. Get it? “Bites”. Ha ha.

On Saturday we adopted a dog. Her name is Bailey (she was named Mallie, but we like Bailey better) and she is a black lab mix - maybe English Pointer or English Setter. She is about 1 year old and just over 45lbs. She was a stray found in Marshall, she was brought up this way to be adopted. She is really sweet and energetic; she is learning to walk nicely on a leash.

Zion and Pepper are not too happy about a new animal around the house, but Bailey is being slowing introduced to the house and cats. She is very calm with the cats in the room, she doesn’t bark at them, so that is helping the transition.

Bailey is able to come to work with me each day. She is learning to stay quiet in her kennel by my desk (although today I think she was snoring a little), and she is making friends with the other dogs in the office. Baily and Sasha are about the same size - they get along wonderfully!
