During the summer, the organization sees an average of 70 cats a day brought to its five sites in the Twin Cities area. That amounts to nearly 500 cats a week, or about 10,000 unwanted cats expected this summer.

Each morning I check the feed and have noticed a trend – on average there are 2 more LOL Cats per day than LOL Dogs. This could be due to the fact that LOL Cats have been around longer, or the fact that ICanHasCheez includes furry animals that aren’t cats. Or cats are just funnier.

You can see my LOL cats here, and an LOL dog here. I need to make more LOL dogs (my excuse is 2 cats, 1 dog).
