Zappos.com has a new feature - “Blog about or MySpace this item!” LOL. I need some new running shoes, so I ordered these:

A more recent list than the last one:

Once upon a time, well, August 13th 1995, Marty and I stayed up all night. Not just for fun, but we were on security detail at new site for the Marshall Kingdom Hall. In order to stay awake we did all sorts of things, including making silly lists:
Things that are easier than you thought
Things that are harder than you thought
Heh. Those bring back some memories… Yeah, I listened to country music back then.

In an effort to post more I have been looking at a lot of blog memes. There are a lot out there, and a lot of them aren’t my style (nicer than saying they are lame). Anyway, found one to use for today.
Word associations for this week. Just tell us what artist/band/song comes to mind when you see these words:
Storm: “The Thunder Rolls” - Garth Brooks
Rain: “Blame it on the Rain” - Milli Vanilli (actually heard this song on XM radio a few weeks ago)
Old: “Moon River”
Magic: “Magic” - The Cars
Angst: Rage Against the Machine (I am just guessing here)
Trust: “A Matter of Trust” - Billy Joel (he kinda looks like a young Tom Hanks in this video)
True: “True Colors” - Cyndi Lauper
Broken: “Broken Wings” - Mr. Mister (CLASSIC 80s video - love it)
Cheesy: Muppets from Space soundtrack (its my cheesy-est soundtrack)
Family: “We are Family” - Sister Sledge

I don’t think I have ever posted my thoughts on that day…
It was a typical Tuesday morning for me, slept a little too late, rushing to get dressed and drive to class (I was attending HTC in Eden Prairie – had a 9am Visual Basic class). Jump in the car, start to drive to class, turn on the radio. Something is weird, I wonder if it’s some sort of morning show antics, but it seems too serious. That’s when I start to realize what happened, but there aren’t a lot of details yet, at least not on the radio.
I go into class, Kris was actually taking this class with me, we both mention what we heard but class is about to start. A lot of students keep looking at the TV playing the news just outside of the class room – the stupid teacher says, “if it’s a big deal it will be on the news later tonight.” Idiot. Somehow we get through the class, and then rush to the TV to see what is going on. Everyone is shocked. Kris has to go to work, I go home. Most of the day is just surreal.
I spend the afternoon trying to get a hold of my best friend Sara, who lives in NJ. Finally in late afternoon we talk briefly, she and all her family are OK. Since it was a Tuesday we have meeting that night. Brother Hernandez gives a wonderful local needs, talking about what happened. Everyone feels encouraged.
