    Q and A With Sammy

One of the lamest 80s power ballads is undoubtedly When Its Love by Van Halen. I mean come on, if you can’t answer the questions, don’t write a song about them!
I love how the band sings the questions to Sammy, he replies with his lame answers:

Band: How do I know when it’s love?
Sammy: I can’t tell you but it lasts forever
Band: How does feel when it’s love?
Sammy: It’s just something you feel together

Duh. I still think Van Halen is great, love a lot of their music, but that song will always annoy me, and possibly you now too.

  • Pumpkin Pie Is Good

I love pumpkin pie. I think I have consumed about half a pie in the past 24 hours. I don’t mean to imply that I support this Autumn/Harvest type holidays, but it seems to be the only time of year I eat pumpkin pie. Yum.

  • You Do Not Get Many Days Like This

Trees at AftonIt was a beautiful weekend. Perfectly sunny and about 70 degrees each day, with that crispness that fall brings. We don’t get very many days like that here, so we made the best of them. Saturday went to Afton State Park, did some hiking. The trees weren’t at their peak, but it was still very pretty, as the picture at the left shows. They have backpack camping at the park, we walked past the campgrounds, most of which were occupied, it looks like fun. I have never backpack camped, much less camped the regular way (there was that one trip to Canada, but I wouldn’t really count that), but I would like to try.

Sunday we played golf, it was only the second time I have ever golfed. We played a “short course” of 9 holes, it was just right. I had a couple good shots (or what ever you call them in golf) and improved quite a bit. Kris and I shared his clubs; I don’t think I want to play golf enough to merit getting my own clubs. I would rather invest in my own skis - I am sick of renting. Speaking of skiing, we are going to Vail at the beginning of December, looks like its snowy already!

  • Hooters Wherever You are

Hooters hot wing chipsI just tried a bag of Hooters Hot Wing Flavored Potato Chips (they were the only thing in the vending machine that looked good). Not too bad. Spicy. Trans-fat free. Yet I still feel a bit dirty.

I have not updated in awhile - too busy and lazy. Kris is in New York this week. Our 6-month anniversary was last week, I got roses. I also got a new wine rack/bar, but not for our anniversary. I finally broke out the crock pot, made some Pulled Pork, turned out better than ever. Also made a lower-fat version of Chilaquiles, very good. Zion has been spending time outdoors at night lately; we have no idea where he goes.
