Congratulations to my co-worker Phil (co-founder of crappycelebrity.com) and his wife, who welcomed 2 baby boys into their family yesterday!

As you all know, Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their kid “Apple”. I was thinking, is Apple really that bad of a name for a kid? Probably. As long as they don’t have another kid and name it iPod I will be happy. Or Mac. Ha.
Speaking of naming kids after fruit, I once wrote a great blog about Kiwi. It was lost when my web server died (a very sad, frustrating day as they did not have a back-up system in place) The blog was inspired when I was talking to a co-worker, telling him he should name his first-born “Kiwi”, if it was a girl. Kiwi Voss - isn’t that a great name? I then began to wonder, “Do kiwi birds eat kiwi fruit?”, and “How does the shoe polish fit in?”. Which led me to google where I found many interesting facts:
About the fruit: (from Fun & Fascinating Fruit Facts)
About the fruit: (from Fun Kiwi Facts)
About the shoe polish: (from www.wackyuses.com)
Personally I don’t really like kiwi fruit (it leaves a weird taste in my mouth), I have never seen a kiwi bird, but I do use kiwi shoe polish.

New York has done it. LA has done it. Even St.Paul has. So why not Minneapolis? What am I talking about? Smoking ban. I really like the idea that it might go statewide. I hope it goes through.
I am off coffee, again. Day two. No real reason, except Caribou gets expensive, and its a hassle to stop there everyday. Somehow I am surviving - tea is getting me by. But I am sure I have not seen my last latte.

I was so excited yesterday when I arrived at work with my freshly-made sandwich, turkey on whole wheat with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and some fancy-schmancy mustard (I am not a sandwich-eater so I need things like that mustard to eat a sandwich). Then my boss says, “did you bring your 7-layer-dip for the pot-luck today?”. I was so sad; I had totally forgotten there was a potluck, which I did not want to miss out on (my boss let me bring his chips and dips as an offering since he couldn’t go), but my sandwich! What about my sandwich, that which I so carefully crafted for my lunch? I decided to just forget about it, I would deal with it later, after I ate yummy Mexican potluck dishes.
So this morning rolls around, I remember my beloved sandwich. Fortunately, while still at home I realize that it most likely got soggy from the fancy mustard. So I wisely grab two fresh slices of bread and throw them in my bag. Lunchtime rolls around, I retrieve the sandwich - and yes, it is soggy. I throw the innards on the fresh bread and wah-lah - a sandwich for lunch, with slight less mustard! The day is saved.
Moral of the story: always carry extra bread. Or remember to bring your 7-layer-dip. You choose.

I went to sleep at 6 pm last night. Woke up at 9 pm. Went back to sleep at 11 and slept until 7:30 this morning. And I am still tired.

How is it that May has rolled around already? Where did April go? I have been married for over a month, can you believe it? All is well, had a quiet weekend - no movie. Maybe next weekend. Anyway, here is a picture from the reception on lake Minnetonka, possibly my favorite.
